Kenya Mission Trip & Safari : Our team of 14 people from First United Methodist church went to help at an orphanage HOREC outside Nairobi, Kenya, Africa.For now, these photos are un-edited. When I return to United States I will begin the process of cropping and bringing out the best of each photo and deleting ones that just aren't what I was looking for when I took the photo! Mesa Verde National Park : Beautiful in all seasons, there is one day a year (in December) when park staff & volunteers light thousands of luminaria and invite the public is enjoy the Park at night. It is the only National Park to feature works of man. The Civilian Conservation Corps did a lot of stonework in the Park during the Great Depression (1930s).

Your Bio

Yvonne Lashmett is an artist and photographer living in Durango, Colorado. Having worked for the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad since 1985, trains have become her passion and she has many years experience photographing trains. Yvonne loves to explore; getting ‘lost’ and finding the beauty in just about any back road where she meanders. Churches, abandoned buildings and ghost towns are also subjects for many of her works.
Yvonne was a newspaper stringer photographer in New York State and helped cover the 1980 Olympics in Lake Placid. Her photographs have received numerous awards and have appeared in national publications including Field & Stream, USA Today, Colorado Life & United Hemisphere as well as many local publications and several books. Her photographs are displayed at the La Plata County Airport and in numerous private collections.
